Milestones reached: In a consistent search for innovative, cost-effective techniques to better serve clients, the firm incorporated an in-house Subsurface Utility Engineering Department providing quality levels “A” through “D,” used the Z-Boat 1800 for hydrographic surveying and utilized the Faro Focus 3D Laser Scanner. Other milestones include being one of the first surveying firms in the area to implement GPS for surveying, plus receiving a letter of recognition from Gov. Mark Warner for outstanding contributions as a business partner in the Virginia Base Mapping Program.
Obstacles overcome: The death of founding partner Vernon Rouse in 2003 and the economic downturn caused by the U.S. housing market crash in 2008.
