Rouse-Sirine Associates was the surveying and mapping subconsultant for the design and construction of a 16.5- mile long route.  Project services include:

  • GPS surveying services related to control adjacent to proposed highway route;
  • Monumentation and targeting for aerial photography;
  • All conventional, base line, horizontal and vertical control surveying services related to preparation and augmentation of topographic mapping of proposed highway route.
  • Property and utility research; and
  • Preparation of base work sheets, cross section and detail sheets, and acquisition plats.

This route is a16.5-mile-long limited access highway between the I-64/I-464 interchange and the North Carolina border.  The highway is a four-lane highway extending from the southern terminus of the Great Bridge Bypass, connecting to the interchange at Hanbury Road and ending at the Virginia/North Carolina state line. The route runs parallel to the existing Route 168.  A substantial portion of the route is tolled and has a single mainline toll plaza located between Indian creek Road and St. Brides Road with a state of the art electronic toll collection system.
